UN Security Council resolution 2334 (document from UN archives).
UN Security Council Resolution 2334.
Whilst UN General Assembly resolutions are advisory. The Security Council resolutions are legally binding.
This was initially passed on the 23rd of December 2016.
With the support of the UK, EU and USA – the full vote passed 14-0.
The resolution declares all Israeli settlements in the Occupied Palestinian Territories (OPTs) as illegal under international law.
Which means, all Israelis who have made a conscious decision to live there, are criminals (obviously, barring children who have had no say and were taken there by their parents).
And this unequivocally means that the Palestinians there, are the rightful inhabitants.
When the confrontation is between criminals and the rightful inhabitants, itā€™s morally repugnant to support the criminals.
Furthermore, when violent force is needed to sustain the illegal settlers, it renders them not just criminals, but terrorists too.
Definition of terrorism: violence against civilians to advance a political aim.
Israeli settlers themselves or via the occupation forces, regularly use violence against the Palestinians.
And the illegal settlers are there to advance a political aim, which is the expansion of Israeli territory.
