Bill Ackman had been on a jihad to get rid of Claudine Gay. Who was recently forced to resign from her post as Harvard president, after a concerted harassment campaign against her.
First, she was accused of not doing enough to stop pro-Palestine support on campus that was reportedly making Jewish students feel unsafe, then, she was accused of plagiarism – with Gay responding to the latter by admitting “to making errors, such as duplicating “other scholars’ language, without proper attribution,” but she has denied claiming credit for other people’s research, and has said that she stands by her work”.
One of those leading that harassment campaign, was Ackman.
What eventually led to gay’s resignation was that Gay had plagiarised some of her previous work. With accusations of “antisemitism” being given short shrift by the Harvard board.
It has now been revealed that Ackman’s wife Neri Oxman, who was a professor at MIT, had, according to Business Insider which broke to story, plagiarised her 2010 doctoral dissertation at MIT. Oxman has admitted she did plagiarise:
Amidst this revelation, Oxman finishes off by rather embarrassingly plugging her new venture.
Further to the initial revelations by Business Insider, it now transpires they have identified many other cases of plagiarism by Oxman.
Will Oxman claim all these other cases are “inadvertent” too?
Did Ackman know about his wife’s plagiarism whilst he was campaigning for the resignation of Claudine Gay, for plagiarism?
Will Ackman call for his wife’s resignation? Resignation from what; their marriage? Her new venture?
And typically, in a fit of rage (Carl Icahn once said of Ackman; “like the little cry baby in the schoolyard.”, Ackman is now threatening to “review” work of all MIT faculty members, to see if he can find any cases of plagiarism by them (akin to collective punishment).
He said:
“We will begin with a review of the work of all current @MIT faculty members, President Kornbluth, other officers of the Corporation, and its board members for plagiarism.”
We would say that is classic schoolyard cry baby stuff.
