Naz Shah has been the MP for Bradford West since 2015.
The case Ms Shah makes is perfectly reasonable and as she outlines in her letter to Mr Cameron, these charities and organisations should be labelled as extremist groups.
They should not be able to continue sending money.
It is absurd that the UK government, which for a long time now has officially ruled all the settlements on Palestinian territory are illegal (around 800k “Israelis” live in thousands of these illegal settlements).
And so therefore, if they are deemed to be illegal then it is only natural that any organisations who send money to illegal places, should be stopped from doing so.
The fact that the UK government has already not stopped these organisations from sending money to illegal places shows it still has along way to go to match its actions with words
The UK has a special moral duty to do what is right, considering the fact that it was the Balfour Declaration that essentially handed over a larger part of historic Palestine so a newly invented country called Israel could be created within Palestine.
In the letter Ms Shah articulates how the new definition of extremism means the UK charities and organisations who send money to illegal settlements are now extremist organisations:
The basic fact is that in any two-state solution, these illegal settlements will have to be uprooted, because these settlers, all of whom are essentially extremists and racist terrorists, would not want to remain living in the area that would be sovereign Palestine.
Nor would they be welcome by Palestinians after terrorising and murdering Palestinians for decades.
And that is why they are considered a major bottleneck to peace. They must go, the sooner the better.
One of the quickest ways to get them to migrate to Israel or wherever they came from is to starve them from funding.
