Working together for a common goal doesn’t require we all have to agree with each other on everything

The war between Israel and Palestine has been raging on and off for 75 years – after Israel unilaterally declared independence in 1948 inside Palestine and began an ethnic cleansing campaign that runs till today. (Photo credit: TCE)

Parts of the pro-Palestine movement need to get out of the “my way or the highway” mindset.

Nothing is perfect, and no one can ever get 100% of what they prefer, like or want – it’s unrealistic, unproductive and a hindrance to progress.

Compromising and building bridges, is key – finding similarities to coalesce around, is key.

And amongst all the differences that may exist between people, one common goal for all pro-Palestinians to coalesce around is for Palestinian sovereignty and rights.

All other differences that exist should be put aside as irrelevant in this context.

You don’t need to agree with everything someone believes in or advocate for, you don’t even need to particularly like them, for you to work productively together with them, and supporting each other for the work of advocating for Palestine.

It really is work, not a party.
