Yahya Sinwar was killed in battle against invading Israeli forces, believed to be two days ago with Israel only confirming it yesterday.
Sinwar is seen as a martyr because he and those like him represent an innate human desire to resist occupation.
This innate desire is felt by every Palestinian.
USA, South Africa, India, Middle East… the world over, for time immemorial, resistance was required for liberation.
Regardless of what occupiers label it to help maintain the status-quo.
Yahya Sinwar was the leader of Hamas, the Palestinian resistance organization and political party that was governing the Gaza Strip before the genocide began.
Born in 1962 in the Khan Younis refugee camp in Gaza, because his family home and farm was stolen by Jewish settlers from Europe who made Aliyah.
Sinwar co-founded the Hamas security apparatus and played a major role in the group’s military wing, the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades.
He has been described as a hardliner and is known for his militant stance against Israel.
He famously said in a recent interview why the world expects Palestinians to politely be occupied without resisting.
Sinwar was arrested by Israel in 1988 for his involvement in the killing of Palestinians suspected of collaborating with Israel and was sentenced to multiple life terms.
Israel usually doesn’t care much about Palestinians killing other Palestinians. They taking a keen interest in these murders would suggest the judgement Hamas made about the collaborators were true.
However, he was released in 2011 as part of the prisoner exchange deal in which over 1,000 Palestinian prisoners were freed in exchange for Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit, who had been captured by Hamas.
In 2017, Sinwar was elected as the leader of Hamas in Gaza, solidifying his influence within the organization.
He has played a critical role in Hamas’ strategy, including its military confrontations with Israel.
Sinwar has also maintained a close relationship with Hamas’s armed wing and is seen as a key figure in directing its operations.
In the West we put labels on groups and individuals. The Palestinians see these people and groups as simply Palestinians who are on a mission to liberate Palestine from colonial rule.
Millions of Palestinians have grown up hearing the horrors of the Nakba
How their farms and houses were stolen by invading Jewish Zionists.
There is a fictitious story that has become popularised in the western world that says Jewish Zionists came to live alongside the Palestinians in peace.
That simply is not true, and is outlined here perfectly by Alana Hadid. She explains how her family’s farm and home was stolen by Jewish Zionists from Europe.
Yahya Sinwar may be gone. The resistance will live on until all of Palestine is free.
The way Sinwar died should lay bare the lie Israel and Zionists have been spreading since the genocide began.
A lie that Palestinian resistance hides behind civilians, in hospitals, in schools, in mosques.
None of that is actually true.
How can it be when the leader was found to be fighting on the front lines?
Surely if it was true then he would be the first person to be hiding in those place, behind civilians or in the tunnels.
The lies are simply another tool to justify slaughter of civilians.
A tool to dehumanise Palestinians so their murder is easier to sell to the public as necessary.
As somehow reasonable.
However, it is reasonable to say Israel’s appetite for slaughter grows bigger with each passing day.
The way Sinwar died fighting will act as a rallying call for anti-colonialists all around the globe. Not least in Palestine and the wider Middle East.
He fought back with one arm blown off.
Hamas’s leadership released a statement today:
“Commander Yahya Sinwar was martyred, advancing and not retreating until the last moment of his life. He was steadfast on the land of Gaza and inspiring in kindling the spirit of steadfastness.
Sinwar was a continuation of the caravan of great martyrs in the footsteps of the founding Sheikh Ahmed Yassin.
We affirm that this blood will continue to constitute a motivation for greater steadfastness and for Hamas to continue on the path of martyrs until complete liberation.
Hamas will continue until the establishment of the Palestinian state on all Palestinian soil with Jerusalem as its capital.
The prisoners held in Gaza will not return unless the aggression is stopped, and the military completely withdraws from the strip, and our prisoners are released from the occupation prisons”. ;- Head of the Hamas movement in Gaza, Khalil al-Hayya.
Israel’s appetite for expanding the occupation is shining a light on Zionism like never before.
The lies needed to uphold the ideology is a heavy burden on Zionists to carry.
They are going to extreme lengths to keep it going. We can see this here where Jewish Zionists are lying and getting caught:
Jewish Zionists are using Jews and Judaism to further the Zionist myth.
They are unnecessarily putting all Jews in the spotlight.
This naturally creates a negative reaction against Jews.
Dan Bilzerian only came out opposing Zionism and Jewish extremism during the Gaza genocide.
Remaining silent was no longer possible.
Yahya Sinwar’s murder is seen by some in the West as being a moment for ending the war. From a Palestinian perspective this sounds naive.
Why would the Palestinians or their allies feel inclined to want peace when one of their leaders has just been murdered?
The voices on the ground actually indicate a different picture.
The indications are this will only solidify their resolve to continue to fight for the liberation of Palestine.
If Sinwar was found hiding in tunnels, or in schools or hospitals, behind civilians, the reactions would be very different.
There is never anyone on the Palestinian side, anywhere in the world who agrees with using human shields.
The problem Zionists have always had is no one actually believed that the Palestinian resistance uses human shields or hides behind civilians.
These abhorrent practices are Israeli inventions – “every accusation is a confession”.
We now have the ultimate confirmation of the Zionist lie.
The human shields lie has been central to they normalising their vengeful thirst for Palestinian blood and slaughter.
